The season for tourtière
Stéphane Levac, owner of Levac & Fils butcher shop in Dalhousie, Québec, will sell about 1,200 meat pies between now and Christmas.
The third-generation butcher is known for his 28 flavours of sausages, which are especially popular during barbecue season.
But when the first flakes of snow begun to flutter, Mr. Levac sets to preparing chicken pot pies, tourtières, and crétons.
Cool weather triggers the impulse to start thinking about getting pies for the holidays.
The shop, located at 165 Principale, was founded in 1929 by Mr. Levac’s grandfather, Dominic.
