Mid­get Glens draw even in UCMHL fi­nal se­ries

BY SEAN BRAY Sports Editor A day af­ter dress­ing just eight play­ers and drop­ping a 4- 2 de­ci­sion in Smiths Falls, Alexandria’s mid­get house Glens re­bounded with a come­from-be­hind 4-3 win on home ice to tie the UCMHL cham­pi­onship se­ries at two points.

The Glens be­gan the third pe­riod of the March 23 con­test trail­ing 3-1, be­fore ral­ly­ing with three unan­swered, power-play goals.

Smiths Falls #2 had four play­ers sus­pended for the Mon­day night match, where the Bears con­tin­ued to rack up penalty min­utes.

Jor­dan Lunny had four points in the game, in­clud­ing two goals. The other mark­ers were notched by Alex MacMaster. Other helpers went to MacMaster, Nathan Cuer­rier, Bren­dan Lau­zon, Tav­ish MacPher­son, Shawn McDonell, and Nick Hansen. Both goal­tenders,

Johnathan Noel and Michaël Deguire, saw ac­tion in the con­test.

Game three of the five-point se­ries was sched­uled for last night in Smiths Falls, with the fourth con­test booked for tonight, March 25, at the Glen­garry Sports Palace. Puck drop is set for 7:30 p.m.

Should it be needed, a fifth con­test will be back in Smiths Falls on March 30.

Dur­ing the reg­u­lar sea­son, both teams had 22-2 records. The Glens scored more goals (196 to 151), while the Bears al­lowed fewer ( 56 to 69). How­ever, by far, Smiths Falls racked up the most penalty min­utes, chalk­ing up over 1,000.
