Alexandria teen Ben Lowe successfully defended his title to repeat as club champion at the Glengarry Golf and County Club.

The two-round event, played Aug. 26-27, saw higher-than-expected scores for all golfers, notes Lowe, who finished with a 156 result (77 and 79) to win by two strokes over Jacques Cholette (79 and 79). Jean Theoret placed third (81 and 80).

Lowe, 17, has won all three major events at the Alexandria golf course, just as he did in 2016. He’s the Glengarry Open champion, the Alexandria Open champion, and now the club champion.

The teen is a Grade 12 student-athlete at Glengarry DHS, where he will be looking to lead the Gaels golf team later this month in high school competition.
