Women’s hockey try­outs

Try­outs for se­nior ‘A’ women’s hockey will be held at the Glen­garry Sports Palace, in Alexan­dria, on Sun­day, Sept. 10, at 1 p.m. Fur­ther ses­sions are slated for Sept. 17 and 24, both start­ing at 12:30 p.m. Try­out cost is $10.

Wild­cats sweep in NCAFA mi­nor foot­ball

All three Corn­wall Wild­cats mi­nor foot­ball teams won their games last weekend. The tykes moved to the .500 mark with a 32-30 re­sult over the Glouces­ter Raiders. The mos­qui­toes stung the Raiders 40-30, and the pee­wees got past Glouces­ter 23-12. Corn­wall’s mos­quito team is now 2-0, while the pee­wees are 1-1.

Puck drops on ju­nior ‘A’ hockey sea­son

The Corn­wall Colts won one of three games played last weekend in the CCHL opener, get­ting past Kanata 3-1. Losses were to Car­leton Place (3-2) and Smiths Falls 3-1. Amongst the goal scor­ers, county broth­ers Kee­gan Mul­hearn and Ethan Mul­hearn each scored once.

Hawkes­bury also went one-and-two over the weekend, with the lone win com­ing at the ex­pense of Smiths Falls, 4-3. The Hawks dropped a 2-1 de­ci­sion to Car­leton Place and were dou­bled 8-4 by Pem­broke.

Alexan­dria’s Kieran Craig is the lone Glen­gar­rian fly­ing with the Hawks this sea­son, while the Colts are also car­ry­ing Ben Dir­ven, Jeremy Ques­nel, and Rod­die Sandi­lands.
