Mos­qui­toes per­fect

Corn­wall’s mosquito Wild­cats foot­ball team im­proved to 3-0 in NCAFA play, fol­low­ing a 28-0 thrash­ing last week­end of the East Ot­tawa Gen­er­als. The ’Cats will next play on home turf Sun­day, Sept. 17, at noon.

Pee­wees pre­vail

The pee­wee Wild­cats also won last week­end, scor­ing a 31-22 tri­umph over the Gen­er­als. Next ac­tion is slated for Sept. 17, when the squad will take on the Gi­ants start­ing at 1:30 p.m.

High school golf

As in past years, the first SD&G high school sports cham­pi­onship event is golf. The tour­na­ment is sched­uled for the Up­per Canada Golf Course, in Mor­ris­burg, on Mon­day, Sept. 18.

Ju­nior ‘A’ Hawks

The 3-2 Hawkes­bury Hawks moved up the CCHL power rank­ings to fourth place, on a pair of vic­to­ries last week. The Hawks dis­patched the Corn­wall Colts 4-1 and the Smiths Falls Bears 6-4, in games played at the Robert Hart­ley Sports Com­plex.

Alexan­dria’s Kieran Craig is the lone coun­try rep­re­sen­ta­tive on the Hawks ros­ter. He scored a goal in each of his team’s re­cent vic­to­ries.
