Members of the Lancaster Royal Canadian Air Cadets, 253 Claude Nunney Squadron, volunteered for the Adopt-a-Road clean-up along their two-kilometre portion of Hwy 2. Capt. Melissa McBain (Squadron instructor), Cpl. Brilyn Poirier of Summerstown and LAC Nicolas Massé of Bainsville were part of the squad who filled nine bags of garbage. The activity was supported by South Glengarry and the United Counties, and an Ontario Provincial Police officer from Alexandria who stopped by and helped out with safety. Capt. Earle DePass, the squadron’s commanding officer, reminds young people aged 12-19 that they are always welcome to join the Air Cadet Program (ACP). Call 613-347-3182 or stop by the squadron at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at 6 Oak St., Lancaster.
