Atom Glens prevail on home ice
A late January tournament at the Glengarry Sports Palace saw the Alexandria atom ‘C’ Glens skate to victory, unbeaten on the day.
The squad of youngsters prevailed in both round- robin games at the Jan. 28 competition.
In the ‘A’ division final, the Glens conquered Cornwall #2 with a 2-1 effort, to claim the title, with the game-winning marker notched by William Ménard, assisted by Jacob Lafrance and Kaleb Cholette.
The team’s first goal was scored by Jacob Castonguay, off a set-up from Liam Vaillancourt and Jaden Magill.
On the season, the atom Glens have racked up quite the success, prevailing in ‘A’ finals of all tournaments in which they have competed, including the Char-Lan ‘C’ tourney and the Russell atom ‘B’ event.
The Glens express their thanks to coaches and sponsors for their support.
In league play, Alexandria stands atop the LSLMHL table, with a record of 15-2-2, for 32 points, 9 better than the second place South Stormont Selects #1.
The team is next scheduled to see action on Sunday, Feb. 11 at 10 a.m., hosting the NGS Braves at the Palace.
