Atom Glens pre­vail on home ice

A late Jan­uary tour­na­ment at the Glen­garry Sports Palace saw the Alexan­dria atom ‘C’ Glens skate to vic­tory, un­beaten on the day.

The squad of young­sters pre­vailed in both round- robin games at the Jan. 28 com­pe­ti­tion.

In the ‘A’ divi­sion fi­nal, the Glens con­quered Corn­wall #2 with a 2-1 ef­fort, to claim the ti­tle, with the game-win­ning marker notched by Wil­liam Mé­nard, as­sisted by Ja­cob Lafrance and Kaleb Cho­lette.

The team’s first goal was scored by Ja­cob Cas­tonguay, off a set-up from Liam Vail­lan­court and Jaden Magill.

On the sea­son, the atom Glens have racked up quite the suc­cess, pre­vail­ing in ‘A’ fi­nals of all tour­na­ments in which they have competed, in­clud­ing the Char-Lan ‘C’ tour­ney and the Rus­sell atom ‘B’ event.

The Glens ex­press their thanks to coaches and spon­sors for their sup­port.

In league play, Alexan­dria stands atop the LSLMHL ta­ble, with a record of 15-2-2, for 32 points, 9 bet­ter than the sec­ond place South Stor­mont Se­lects #1.

The team is next sched­uled to see ac­tion on Sun­day, Feb. 11 at 10 a.m., host­ing the NGS Braves at the Palace.
