Sandilands returns to the ‘Q’
Defenceman Roddie Sandilands is back for his second season with the Shawinigan Cataractes of the QMJHL. The 19-year-old blueliner saw action in 25 games last season, as an undrafted player invited to join the club. Off the ice, Sandilands says his French is improving, adding that he’s taking extra math courses at the high school level, along with classes through the online Athabasca University.
His team will visit Gatineau to take on the Olympiques (and another Glengarrian Kieran Craig) twice this season, on Dec. 1 and Feb. 5.
