Gaels garner six ten­nis medals

Glen­garry DHS stu­dent-ath­letes snagged six ten­nis medals at last week’s high school cham­pi­onships, held in Alexan­dria.

Bai­ley Pid­geon and Brooke Lapierre won gold in se­nior mixed dou­bles, while the Char-Lan duo of Jack Cayer and Emma Leduc took sil­ver.

In­di­vid­u­ally, Liam Fil­ion claimed gold for Glen­garry in the se­nior boys event, while fel­low Gael Om Pa­tel won the ju­nior boys divi­sion.

Gaels gar­ner­ing sil­ver were Abby Lowe (ju­nior girls sin­gles), Ella Camp­bell and Caileigh Kyle (ju­nior girls dou­bles), and Craig Van Loon and Ad­di­son Hay (se­nior boys dou­bles).

Other Char- Lan play­ers medalling were Robin Don­nel­ley and Grace La­plante (gold, se­nior girls dou­bles), and Fiona Mac­Don­ald and Roan MacLennan (sil­ver, ju­nior mixed dou­bles).

Holy Trin­ity’s lone medal, a sil­ver, was col­lected by John Van Put­ten in se­nior boys sin­gles.
