Fraud charge

An in­ves­ti­ga­tion that be­gan early last year has re­sulted in a 56-yearold South Glen­garry woman be­ing charged with fraud over $5,000.

An­gela Zim­mer­man, who was ar­rested Septem­ber 7, was re­leased and is sched­uled to ap­pear in Alexan­dria court to­day (Oc­to­ber 10).

She was charged after Stor­mont-Dun­das-Glen­garry On­tario Pro­vin­cial Po­lice de­tach­ment re­sponded Fe­bru­ary 20, 2017 to a re­port of a theft of funds from a vic­tim in South Glen­garry Town­ship.

Boat stolen

The Stor­mont-Dun­das-Glen­garry On­tario Pro­vin­cial Po­lice de­tach­ment is in­ves­ti­gat­ing the theft of a 17-foot white duck boat with a 70horse­power Mariner en­gine from a prop­erty on County Road 2 in South Glen­garry.

Gen­er­a­tor stolen

Some­time on Septem­ber 28, thieves made off with a King gen­er­a­tor and a Stihl weed eater from a prop­erty on Binette Road in North Glen­garry.

The Stor­mont-Dun­das-Glen­garry de­tach­ment of the On­tario Pro­vin­cial Po­lice re­sponded to 198 calls for ser­vice from Septem­ber 28 to Oc­to­ber 1. Of­fi­cers re­sponded to five mo­tor ve­hi­cle col­li­sions, 14 calls for as­sis­tance, ten 911 calls, 16 traf­fic com­plaints, con­ducted 15 RIDE checks, han­dled two neigh­bour dis­putes, five traf­fic haz­ards, two fraud-re­lated calls, two do­mes­tic dis­putes, 11 thefts, two ha­rass­ment calls, three mis­chief calls, a sud­den death in­ves­ti­ga­tion, six sus­pi­cious ac­tiv­ity calls, one un­wanted per­son call and one stolen ve­hi­cle.
