South Glengarry’s residential ratepayers should expect a two to three per cent increase on their 2019 property tax bills.

General manager of corporate services/treasurer Lachlan McDonald said at the most recent council meeting states that “we will seek from the next council such an increase,” describing it as “palatable as a basis for initiating the budget process.”

His department will “develop the budget, internally” by the end of November and present 2019 capital and operating budgets in February. The new South Glengarry council will be sworn in December 3.
