Jr. ‘B’ Rebels drop a pair

Week seven of the CCHL2 sched­ule proved to be a tough one for the Char-Lan Rebels, as the boys took it on the chin with a pair of losses, scor­ing four goals, while al­low­ing 10.

On the road in West­port Oct. 26, the boys fell be­hind 2-0 in the first pe­riod, en route to a 7-2 loss to the Rideaus. Ryan Rei­fler and Mathieu Sabourin had the Char-Lan goals, both notched in the sec­ond stanza. As­sist­ing were Evan Huntley, Bren­nan Markell, Sam Fer­land, and Dylan Seguin.

Grant Craig took the loss in net, de­spite a 39-save ef­fort, while the Rebs fired 46 shots on the West­port net.

On home ice Satur­day night, Char-Lan bat­tled in a tight one with the Em­brun Pan­thers, but in the end suc­cumbed in a 3-2 de­feat.

In­ter­est­ingly in this one, all goals of the game were scored into the south net.

Em­brun pot­ted one of the first frame, while the Rebels Rei­fler scored twice in the sec­ond stanza to put Char-Lan in front. The Pan­thers re­sponded in the third with two of their own, dish­ing de­feat to the home team.

Daw­son Irv­ing was tagged with the loss in net, fac­ing 33 shots on goal. Char-Lan shoot­ers fired 24 the other way.
