Bar Flies bat­tle back for draw with Alexan­dria

In Thurs­day night GSL men’s soc­cer at the dome last week, Alexan­dria FC held a lead into the sec­ond half of play, when they faced an on­slaught of pres­sure from the Bar Flies who were re­warded with a late equal­izer, in a game that fin­ished 2-2.

Alexan­dria goal­keeper Ni­co­las Vail­lan­court was tested fre­quently, par­tic­u­larly in the last 30 min­utes of the match.

Dakota Baker and Sul­li­van Van Loon had the mark­ers for FC, while Hamish MacLeod and Lochlan Mac­Don­ald scored for the Flies.

The other Nov. 1 game saw McCrim­mon paste Pine Grove 10-2.

Andy Brit­tle, Shawn Vink, and Matthew Watts each scored twice, while count­ing sin­gles were Matthew Cun­ning­ham, Bryce Fraser, Rony Oder­matt, and Tyler Wil­lard.

Joshua Dee and Har­risan Mu­gun­than had the Pine Grove mark­ers.

Head­ing into week three, the Bar Flies and McCrim­mon both have 1 win and 1 tie, while Pine Grove and Alexan­dria FC both have 1 tie and 1 loss.

Matches con­tinue Thurs­day evenings through­out the win­ter, kick­ing off at 7:30 and 8:30 p.m.
