The Chair of The Bishop Strachan School (BSS) Board of Gov­er­nors, Val Sor­bie, is pleased to an­nounce that

Dr. An­gela Terpstra has as­sumed the po­si­tion of Head of School, ef­fec­tive No­vem­ber 1. A long-stand­ing mem­ber of the BSS aca­demic fac­ulty since 2005, Dr. Terpstra is an ex­pe­ri­enced ed­u­ca­tor and ad­min­is­tra­tor, who is widely re­spected for her ex­ten­sive con­tri­bu­tions to the ed­u­ca­tional field. She has been a Prin­ci­pal of both Mid­dle and Se­nior schools and, most re­cently, Deputy Head of School.

Dr. Terpstra re­ceived her

B.A. (Hon­ours, English) from McMaster Univer­sity in 1980, her B.Ed. (English/His­tory) from Queen’s Univer­sity in 1981, her M.A. (English) in 1988 from McMaster Univer­sity and Prin­ci­pal’s Cer­tifi­cate from Har­vard Univer­sity in 2007. In No­vem­ber 2007, she re­ceived her Ph.D (English Ed­u­ca­tion) from the On­tario In­sti­tute for Stud­ies in Ed­u­ca­tion at the Univer­sity of Toronto (OISE.UT). The Bishop Strachan School is a univer­sity prep school for girls in JK to Grade 12. Lo­cated in Toronto and with over 900 day and board­ing stu­dents, BSS of­fers a stateof-the-art STEAM wing, ex­ten­sive ath­let­ics fa­cil­i­ties and an ex­pan­sive col­lec­tion of co-cur­ric­u­lar ac­tiv­i­ties.
