"Bob"

Died on Fri­day, No­vem­ber 2, 2018 at the age of 85. Bob is pre­de­ceased by his par­ents, Fer­gus and Grace, and his wife of 55 years, Jean. Bob loved be­ing the fa­ther of Jeff (Lau­rie), Lynne (Pe­ter Spir) and Ali­son (Pe­ter Pfen­ning) and grand­fa­ther of Sarah, Jen­nifer, Lauren and Ryan. Bob was born in Ver­non, BC, April 25, 1933 and grew up there and in Van­cou­ver be­fore mov­ing to Toronto to fin­ish high school and earn a de­gree at the Univer­sity of Toronto, School of Ar­chi­tec­ture. He and Jean started their fam­ily in Van­cou­ver and moved back to Toronto in 1967 to be closer to his par­ents and the Six Mile Lake cot­tage he helped build where his fam­ily and friends still gather and en­joy. He had a keen in­ter­est in his­tory, pol­i­tics and com­put­ers and loved ca­noe trips with fam­ily and friends. Bob’s pas­sion and care for the com­mu­nity con­tin­ues to be seen in the build­ings he de­signed lo­cally and abroad along with his legacy of as­sist­ing with nu­mer­ous lo­cal elec­tions.

Friends and fam­ily may join a memo­rial re­cep­tion at the McLean House at the Es­tates of Sun­ny­brook (2075 Bayview Av­enue, south of Lawrence), on Satur­day De­cem­ber 15, 1 - 4 p.m. In lieu of flow­ers, please con­sider a do­na­tion to the Alzheimer’s So­ci­ety of Canada.
