Passed away on Mon­day, Oc­to­ber 8, 2018 with his dear wife, best friend and travel com­pan­ion of 42 years, Judy by his side. Eric was born in Glas­gow Scot­land on Jan­uary 1, 1944, adopted Fe­bru­ary 29, 1944 and im­mi­grated to Canada in Fe­bru­ary 1948 land­ing in Hamil­ton . For the past 53 years Eric was in­volved in the plumb­ing and heat­ing whole­sale busi­ness and as a mem­ber of the Cana­dian In­sti­tute of Plumb­ing and Heat­ing (CIPH). Eric was a past Pres­i­dent of the Quinte Home­builder’s As­so­ci­a­tion as well as an em­ployee of Bar­don Sup­plies in Belleville for the last 36 years. Pre­de­ceased by his adop­tive par­ents, David and Sarah Todd of Glas­gow Scot­land; and birth mother, Sarah Ritchie Brown of Hound­slow Eng­land. Left to grieve is his brother, Alan Brown of Pry­ford Eng­land; and also cousins, Alan Ritchie and his mother, Mar­garet Ritchie of John­stone Scot­land, Mau­reen (John) Pyper of Air­drie Scot­land and Elise Stalker of New Milnes Scot­land. Fondly re­mem­bered by brother-in-laws, James (Betty) Phelps of Burling­ton On­tario and Bill Phelps of Stoney Creek On­tario along with ex­tended fam­ily and friends. Fam­ily and friends are in­vited to at­tend a memo­rial vis­i­ta­tion at the Burke Fu­neral Home (613 9686968) 150 Church St., Belleville on Fri­day, Oc­to­ber 19, 2018 from 2:00 p.m. un­til 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. un­til 9:00 p.m. A memo­rial ser­vice will be held at St. Thomas Angli­can Church, 201 Church St., Belleville on Satur­day, Oc­to­ber 20, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. A re­cep­tion and re­flec­tion of Eric’s life will fol­low.
