Walk-It for Parkin­son’s

Over the week­end the walk­ing event took place at Ro­tary Cove for the first time in Goderich

Hosted by Parkin­son So­ci­ety South­west­ern On­tario, walk­ers came to­gether to take part in the 1km-5km walk, join­ing in the 5, 000, 000 Step Chal­lenge across the re­gion. Parkin­son’s is a slow, pro­gres­sive neu­rode­gen­er­a­tive dis­or­der, mak­ing ac­tiv­i­ties and daily liv­ing dif­fi­cult and a lo­cal event such as the walk, has such a pos­i­tive im­pact on the Parkin­son’s com­mu­nity.

All funds raised goes to­wards pro­grams and ser­vices to sup­port peo­ple with Parkin­son’s dis­ease within the area. The goal was to reach $405, 000 from fundrais­ing.

Par­tic­i­pants of theWalk-It for Parkin­son’s event were led through stretch­ing and yoga prior to the walk along the board­walk.
