Chris Pennington (12) of Brussels, was born with one kidney and later diagnosed with kidney disease. Currently at Stage 1, Chris relies on medication to keep his kidneys functioning and from further deteriorating. Chris raises awareness for kidney disease as well as money to help fund more research. “Not a lot of people know about it, so this walk really helps people understand [about the disease],” Chris said.

It was a beautiful day for the 5km Goderich KidneyWalk. According to statistics, one in 10 Canadians have kidney disease. The Kidney Foundation’s vision is to improve the lives for all people affected by the disease.
