Goderich Kinettes make major donation to Goderich Recreation Park
The Kinettes of Goderich have donated $ 50,000 to support the renewal of Goderich’s Agricultural Park.
When asked about the park revitalization, president Patti Lamb says, “support for the Goderich Recreation Park was a natural fit for us and what our group is all about. The Kin motto is ‘ Serving the Community’s Greatest Need’ and this project will not only bene- fit local youth but people of all ages from the entire surrounding community. It’s exciting to be a part of that.”
On a personal note, Lamb adds that she spent a lot of time on the Ag Park ball diamonds growing up so she is excited to see them being revitalized.
Lamb, adds that the Goderich Kinettes are all about giving back to the community and focus their efforts primarily on youth initiatives but also support various adult organizations as well.
Their preference is to provide support locally and in the past year the Kinettes have been able to support 26 different local groups.
Councillor, Trevor Bazinet, says that the Park Revitalization Committee is amazed by the community’s continuing support.
“The Kinettes have done and continue to do so much for our community. The very generous $ 50,000 donation once again shows how lucky Goderich i s to have such an amazing group of women volunteering and giving back to our community. We are very pleased that they have been so supportive of this recreation infrastructure project.”
Work at the park is scheduled to start shortly with a new, revitalized park opening in the spring of 2019.
