Vegas Night: Couples Tournament at Sunset

The Goderich Signal-Star - - Business & Professional Directory -

This year at Sunset Golf Course, the event was changed up from the original Hip of Beef to a Vegas Scramble Night.

Each player of the sixteam members is allocated a number, one to six. After everyone has hit their drive they rolled the dice and whatever number comes up to the corresponding player’s number they must select ONE of their shots throughout the hole.

It could be their tee shot, fairway shot, chip or putt but only ONE shot must be of the person’s number who was rolled.

Las Vegas Scramble is a variation on the standard Scramble format. Scramble: is a team game whereby every player takes a shot and the team then elects which of these shots to play.

After finishing golf it was funny to listen to how strategy came into play as well as a bit of luck.

Next it was time to try their luck at some Vegas games. Golfers had a chance at spin the wheel, horse races and euchre while enjoying delicious appetizers that held them over till Lynne’s Famous Roast Beef Dinner. First place with a very impressive – five score of 30 was Rob and Ann Standen, Bill and Tracey Peters, Paul and Wendy Dougherty. Second place with a 33 was Ken and Donna Partridge, Paul and Bev Lapenta, Ken and Betty Tomlinson. Third place with 35 was Martyn and Lois Tooley and Stu and Cindy Sharp.
