Neigh­bours look­ing out for neigh­bours

(SOUTH HURON, ON) Huron County On­tario Pro­vin­cial Po­lice (OPP) have ar­rested and charged a 40-year-old with a num­ber of crim­i­nal of­fences in con­nec­tion with a break and en­ter that took place early yes­ter­day morn­ing in Huron Park. On Septem­ber 25, 2018 at 1:51 a.m. of­fi­cers at­tended an Al­go­nquin Drive res­i­dence after re­ceiv­ing a call from a wit­ness that re­ported hear­ing a lot noise in a res­i­dence that was sup­posed to be va­cant.

Upon ar­rival po­lice spot­ted a male sus­pect in­side the home. Upon clear­ing the res­i­dence the male had de­parted how­ever he was found hid­ing in the woods nearby. He was placed un­der ar­rest and taken into cus­tody.

The male then tried to ob­struct of­fi­cers by pro­vid­ing a false name. Upon fur­ther in­ves­ti­ga­tion of­fi­cers were able to pos­i­tively iden­tify the male sus­pect.

A man of 40 years of age, from Lon­don has been charged with the fol­low­ing of­fences: * Break & En­ter * Per­son­ation with In­tent to Avoid Ar­rest

* Ob­struct Peace Of­fi­cer * Fail to Com­ply with Un­der­tak­ing

He re­mains in cus­tody with a court ap­pear­ance sched­uled for Septem­ber 28, 2018 at the On­tario Court of Jus­tice Goderich.
