Gate­way re­cip­i­ent of do­na­tion from Light­house Money Man­age­ment

Gate­way Cen­tre of Ex­cel­lence in Ru­ral Health was pleased to re­ceive a fund­ing do­na­tion from Light­house Money Man­age­ment of Goderich at their monthly board meet­ing held on Septem­ber 28th.

The funds re­ceived from Light­house will be used to sup­port stu­dent re­search projects dur­ing the sum­mer of 2019. Gate­way ac­tively en­cour­ages un­der­grad­u­ate health sci­ences stu­dents, from this area, to con­duct health re­search un­der the aus­pices of Gate­way’s re­search chairs and lo­cal med­i­cal prac­ti­tion­ers.

Gate­way of­fers fund­ing for a co-op term or sum­mer job pe­riod to en­able these stu­dents to en­gage in health re­search and com­plete short term projects or be part of a larger re­search ini­tia­tive.

Re­ceiv­ing the Light­house do­na­tion was Dr. Feng Chang, Gate­way board chair, Glen Stein­son and Dean Whalen prini­pals of Light­house Money Man­age­ment and Jay McFar­lan, pres­i­dent of Gate­way. Gate­way Cen­tre of Ex­cel­lence in Ru­ral Health is a unique Cana­dian Ru­ral Health en­tity.

It is ded­i­cated to im­prov­ing the health and qual­ity of life of ru­ral res­i­dents through re­search, ed­u­ca­tion and com­mu­ni­ca­tion. Gate­way is a not for profit or­ga­ni­za­tion and re­lies on the sup­port of the com­mu­nity to de­liver its pro­grams.
