Pair charged with steal­ing bi­cy­cles

(GODERICH, ON) Huron County On­tario Pro­vin­cial Po­lice (OPP) of­fi­cers have ar­rested and charged two males in con­nec­tion with the theft of two high end bi­cy­cles that were stolen in Goderich this past Septem­ber. On Septem­ber 5, 2018 Huron OPP mem­bers were con­tacted by two high school stu­dents that re­ported their bi­cy­cles were stolen from a bike rack lo­cated at the high school in Goderich.

In­ves­ti­ga­tors were able to de­ter­mine two sus­pects at­tended the school prop­erty just prior to dis­missal where­upon they cut through the bi­cy­cle locks and stole the two bikes.

In­ves­ti­ga­tors were able to pos­i­tively iden­tify the sus­pects and were ul­ti­mately able to ar­rest both sus­pects. On Septem­ber 14, 2018 Huron OPP ar­rested and charged a 17-year-old male from Ash­field-Col­borne-Wawanosh with two counts of theft. Ad­di­tion­ally, upon a search in­ci­dent to ar­rest he was also found to be in pos­ses­sion of cannabis mar­i­huana. He has later re­leased from cus­tody with a court ap­pear­ance sched­uled for the On­tario Court of Jus­tice - Goderich, Youth Court on Novem­ber 1, 2018. On Oc­to­ber 1, 2018 Huron OPP lo­cated and ar­rested the sec­ond sus­pect. A man of 32 years of age from Goderich has been charged with two counts of Theft and two counts of Fail to Com­ply with Pro­ba­tion Or­der. Ad­di­tion­ally, upon ar­rest the ac­cused was found to be in pos­ses­sion of sus­pected metham­phetamine. He is also fac­ing an ad­di­tional charge of Pos­ses­sion of a Sched­ule I Sub­stance - Metham­phetamine. He has since been re­leased from cus­tody with a court ap­pear­ance sched­uled for Novem­ber 5, 2018 at the On­tario Court of Jus­tice - Goderich.

Both stolen bi­cy­cles have not yet been re­cov­ered. The stolen bikes are de­scribed as a black 21 speed, Louis Garneau, RC1 moun­tain bike val­ued at $700 and a 2017 black Norco Charger 9.3 moun­tain bike val­ued at just over $1,100.
