The kids are taking over the museum
The Huron County Museum’s staff has been working with students from the Avon Maitland District School Board’s S.O.A.R. program since September of this year. Museum staff has been teaching the students about all aspects of Museum operations including curatorial work, artifact care, exhibit creation and design, archives procedures, marketing, guest services and more. On November 17, the students will use their new knowledge to takeover management of the Huron County Museum.
Stop in anytime between 1-4pm to meet the kids and see the exhibit they have created called “Dinner Back Then”.
At the request of the students, admission to Takeover Day will be by cash donation to the Huron County Food Bank. The student exhibit Dinner Back Then will be on display at the Huron County Museum until December 1, 2018.
