Trick for all, gas prices go up 3.1 cents

The Is­land Reg­u­la­tory and Ap­peals Com­mis­sion will be handed out tricks — not treats — as it gets set to in­crease gas prices across Prince Ed­ward Is­land on Hal­loween Day.

The Guardian has learned that gas prices will in­crease by 3.1 cents per litre as of mid­night tonight. That will push the price for gas at self-serve sta­tions to be­tween $1.02 and $1.04 cents per litre. The new prices go into ef­fect on Sun­day, Nov. 1. There are no treats for those who use diesel. It goes up two cents per litre.

Home heat­ing oil in­creases 2.5 cents per litre.

The com­mis­sion will make the new prices of­fi­cial on Sun­day.
