Here are some facts and figures from the first full year of the Palliative Home Care Drug Pilot Project:
81 patients have been registered, ranging in age from 18 months to 96 years.
12 died at home, 18 died in designated palliative care beds and 11 died in hospital.
Patients have spent 24 per cent more time at home during illness than prior to project.
Total number of hospital days reduced by 1,110 through this project.
