Catherine MacLellan at the Souris Show Hall
Catherine MacLellan will be in Souris to put on a concert at the historic Souris Show Hall on Sept. 28, 8 p. m.
The daughter of Canadian songwriter Gene MacLellan, she is a wellknown folk singersongwriter born and raised in Summerside. She began her singing career with two different bands before making her debut as a solo performer at Summerside’s Harbourfront Theatre.
MacLellan has released four albums — Dark Dream Midnight, Church Bell Blues, Water in the Ground and her latest, Silhouette, in 2011 — and has toured Canada, the U. S. and the U. K. She also has two East Coast Music Awards and four Music P. E. I. Awards.
Her songwriting talent and accomplished performance have been known to draw her listeners in with little effort, and her version of the classic hit, Snowbird, is sure to delight the audience.
“It’s a meaningful acoustic tribute to the elder MacLellan’s songwriting legacy and a fan favourite re- imagined by Catherine in a whole new light,” says a release.
Tickets are at the door, as well as in advance at the Evergreen Café, 95 Main St., Souris, Monday to Friday, at www.sourisshowhall.ca or call 687- 1521.
