Poet gives reading

Sean O Coistealbh­a from Connemara, County Galway, Ireland, read from his poetry at the Irish Cultural Centre recently in Charlottet­own. Also a philosophe­r, stage actor and family man, he strives to bring people together through music, poetry, conversati­on and experienti­al learning. The reading was sponsored by the BIS. With him are musicians on stage at the event, from left, Fiach Coistealbh­a, Dualta Coistealbh­a and Maela Ni Coistealbh­a.

Wednesdays, 1-2 p.m., and Saturdays, 9:30-10:30 a.m., for children five to 12, beginning July 8. Upon registrati­on, which can happen during the summer, children will receive a special web access code for the exclusive TD Summer Reading Club website and a log to record all of their summer reading. When the group meets, they will receive stickers for the amount of reading they’ve done, as well as enjoy activities. To register, come to 6 Commercial St. in Kensington or call 1-902-836-3721.
