Dis­tur­bance leads to im­paired ar­rest

SUMMERSIDE — A dis­tur­bance at a lo­cal gas sta­tion Tues­day re­sulted in the ar­rest of a 39-year-old Len­nox Is­land woman for im­paired driv­ing. Shortly af­ter 2 p.m., Summerside po­lice re­sponded to the dis­tur­bance call. Wit­nesses re­ported that the three oc­cu­pants of a Dodge van were fight­ing with one other. One of the oc­cu­pants then en­tered the store and was yelling and swear­ing be­fore go­ing back out­side and punch­ing the win­dows of the van. Po­lice ar­rived as the van was at­tempt­ing to leave the area. The woman, the driver of the van, was ar­rested for im­paired driv­ing. She pro­vided breath sam­ples more than dou­ble the le­gal limit and will ap­pear in court at a later date to an­swer to im­paired driv­ing re­lated charges.
