Koughan scores win at Avon­dale

Marty Koughan of Avon­dale shot a 3-un­der par 69 and claimed the fi­nal event of the spring ses­sion of the King of Clubs Se­nior Men’s Golf Tour re­cently at Glen Afton Golf Club. Ron Gar­rett of Bru­denell, who had a 2-un­der par 70, won the su­per se­nior di­vi­sion. Joe Richard of Ea­gles Glenn posted the next best score in the su­per se­nior di­vi­sion with a 79. In the se­nior di­vi­sion, Wayne Crosby of An­der­sons Creek, Alan Pickard of Belvedere, Jim MacIn­tyre of Mill River and Dave Con­nolly of Coun­tryview tied at 75. The fall ses­sion of the tour be­gins Mon­day, Aug. 31, at Clyde River Golf Club. Up next is the P.E.I. Golf As­so­ci­a­tion Am­a­teur July 11 and 12 at Glen Afton. Re­sults there de­ter­mine the pro­vin­cial teams, the win­ners of the golfers of the year awards and the qual­i­fiers for the an­nual Is­land match play. En­try forms are online at www.peiga.ca.
