‘Flying Fiddler’ returns
Sunday Night Shenanigans features Kevin Beanland, Frank Whitty
Sunday Night Shenanigans, hosted by Judy MacLean, and held at York Community Centre welcomes the very popular Newfoundland entertainer Kevin Beanland back to the stage, July 5 at 7p.m.
Dubbed Air Canada’s Flying Fiddler, in his early career because he entertained the passengers and crew during his flight and named Musical Ambassador to Newfoundland, Beanland is one of the top guitar pickers in Canada.
He has produced more than 20 CD’s and will be joined by young teen musician Hayden Stover who is multi-talented and plays several instruments including guitar, fiddle, accordion and mandolin.
Also featured is country singer Frank Whitty from Farmington, whose singing style is often compared to George Jones. He has two CDs on the market.
The show includes some electrifying fast-paced footwork by several members of the Judy MacLean Dancers with fiddler/stepdancer Paige LeClair (longtime former member of the Judy MacLean Dancers) as well as The Saunders Sisters (Isabelle and Danielle).
The fun evening includes 50/50 draw, Visitor From Away prize, light lunch compliments of Atlantic Superstores, ADL, and PEI Preserve Company. Tickets are available at the door 6 p.m., showtime 7 p.m. Call 902566-5545.
