‘Fly­ing Fid­dler’ re­turns

Sun­day Night Shenani­gans, hosted by Judy Ma­cLean, and held at York Com­mu­nity Cen­tre wel­comes the very pop­u­lar New­found­land en­ter­tainer Kevin Bean­land back to the stage, July 5 at 7p.m.

Dubbed Air Canada’s Fly­ing Fid­dler, in his early ca­reer be­cause he en­ter­tained the pas­sen­gers and crew dur­ing his flight and named Mu­si­cal Am­bas­sador to New­found­land, Bean­land is one of the top guitar pick­ers in Canada.

He has pro­duced more than 20 CD’s and will be joined by young teen mu­si­cian Hay­den Stover who is multi-tal­ented and plays sev­eral in­stru­ments in­clud­ing guitar, fid­dle, ac­cor­dion and man­dolin.

Also fea­tured is coun­try singer Frank Whitty from Farm­ing­ton, whose singing style is of­ten com­pared to Ge­orge Jones. He has two CDs on the mar­ket.

The show in­cludes some elec­tri­fy­ing fast-paced foot­work by sev­eral mem­bers of the Judy Ma­cLean Dancers with fid­dler/step­dancer Paige Le­Clair (long­time for­mer mem­ber of the Judy Ma­cLean Dancers) as well as The Saun­ders Sis­ters (Is­abelle and Danielle).

The fun evening in­cludes 50/50 draw, Visi­tor From Away prize, light lunch com­pli­ments of At­lantic Su­per­stores, ADL, and PEI Pre­serve Com­pany. Tick­ets are avail­able at the door 6 p.m., show­time 7 p.m. Call 902566-5545.
