The funeral mass for Audrey Hamill, of Middleton, was held on Saturday, June 27, 2015 at St. Malachy’s Church, Kinkora, and celebrated at 10 a.m. by Rev. Doug MacDonald, who proclaimed the Gospel and delivered the homily. Cross bearer was Lennie Johnston. Mass servers were Betty Smith and Frank McCardle. The first reading from Ecclesiastes was proclaimed by niece, Nicole Drummond, and the second reading from the First Letter of Paul to the Thessalonians was proclaimed by niece, Marilynn Reeves. Prayers of the faithful were led by niece, Maribeth Neale. Hymns sung by Dino and Sheila Dunsford were: Entrance, Hail Mary, Gentle Woman; offertory, Peace is Flowing Like a River; communion, Come to The Water; and recessional, Sing to the Mountains. Ushers were Pat O’Connor and Joe O’Connor. Eucharistic ministers were Paula Smith and Barb McCardle. Pallbearers were Patrick MacDonald, Ryan Hamill, Joey Neale, Justin Rogers, Steven Hamill and Christopher Drummond. Flowerbearers were Laura Rogers, Holly Osborne MacDonald, Michelle MacDonald, Julie Kelly and Marsha Nicholson. Honorary pallbearers were Bob and Gen Gallant, Russell and Karen Noonan, Leonard and Barb McCardle, Linda Buote, Donny and Amy Rogers, Dr. Ron and Elaine Nicholson, Denton and Cindy Affleck, David and Mariam Smallwood, Jim and Lorna Campbell and softball hockey/broomball team members. Members of the CWL formed an honour guard at the funeral and said prayers on Friday, June 26, prior to the visitation. Interment was in St. Malachy’s Church Cemetery with Fr. Doug MacDonald officiating. A poem in her memory was read by Kathy Reeves at the gravesite.
