The fu­neral for Irene Mac­Don­ald of South Shore Villa, Cra­paud, and for­merly of Bor­den-Car­leton, wife of the late John Mac­Don­ald, was held on Fri­day, June 26, 2015 from the Law­less Fu­neral Home, Kinkora, to St. Peter's Church, Seven Mile Bay, where fu­neral mass was cel­e­brated at 10 a.m. by Rev. Doug Mac­Don­ald who pro­claimed the Gospel and de­liv­ered the homily. Cross bearer was Jen­nie Jessome. Mass servers were Earle Smith and David McKenna. The first Scrip­tural read­ing was pro­claimed by Metta Wright and the sec­ond scrip­tural read­ing was pro­claimed by grand­daugh­ter, Mary Mac­Don­ald-Pickering. Mem­bers of St. Peter's and St. Malachy's choirs sang the hymns: Here I am Lord, The Old Rugged Cross, As we Gather at Your Ta­ble and Hail Mary, Gen­tle Woman. Or­gan­ist was Joan Gau­vin. Eucharis­tic min­is­ter was Donna Bernard. The pall was placed on the casket by Billy Pickering. At­tend­ing the fu­neral were em­ploy­ees of South Shore Villa and UCW mem­bers of Summerside Trin­ity United Church. Pall­bear­ers were Robert Mullins, Joey Mullins, Bobby Mac­Don­ald, Mal­com Mac­Don­ald, Garth Wright, Dennis Bernard, Shane Tynes and Randy Ahearn. Flower­bear­ers were Alice Mac­Don­ald, Hay­ley Tynes and Jack Pickering. All in at­ten­dance were con­sid­ered to be honorary pall­bear­ers. In­ter­ment was in the parish ceme­tery with Rev. Doug Mac­Don­ald of­fi­ci­at­ing. Com­rades of the Bor­denCar­leton Branch of the Royal Cana­dian Le­gion held a ser­vice of re­mem­brance at the Law­less Fu­neral Home on Thurs­day, June 25, un­der the di­rec­tion of Com­rade Keith Sigsworth. Colour Party was Reg Noo­nan and Arthur Rana­han. Sergeant-atarms was Mario Henry. The Last Post and Reveille was sounded by Com­rade Donna Bernard.
