The death oc­curred peace­fully, sur­rounded by his lov­ing fam­ily, at the Prince County Hos­pi­tal, Summerside, on Mon­day, July 6, 2015, of Ch­ester Lake, of Bor­den-Car­leton, aged 89 years. Born in For­tune, New­found­land, he was the son of the late Cap­tain Ge­orge and Effie (Caines) Lake. Vet­eran Mer­chant Navy Marine. Sur­vived by his lov­ing wife of 65 years, Laura (Ma­cLean) Lake; chil­dren, Robert (Kim), Gerald, Dar­lene Noo­nan, Ken­neth ( Janet), Edith (Phillip Rop­pel) and Donna (Dr. Braulio Sa­bates); 10 grand­chil­dren; 5 great-grand­chil­dren; sis­ters, Jane (Frank) MacMil­lan and Mil­lie (Ster­ling) Stewart. Pre­de­ceased by brother and sis­ter-in­law, Joe and Ber­nice Lake, and son-in-law, Paul Noo­nan. Rest­ing at the Moase Fu­neral Home, Summerside, where fu­neral ser­vice will be held on Fri­day at 1 p.m. In­ter­ment in St. John’s Pres­by­te­rian Church Ceme­tery, Belfast. Vis­it­ing hours will be held on Thurs­day from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Me­mo­rial do­na­tions to the Prince County Hos­pi­tal Foun­da­tion would be ap­pre­ci­ated.
