Extant 8 p.m. on (GLO) How much can astronaut Molly Woods (Halle Berry) trust bounty hunter JD Richter (Jeffrey Dean Morgan)? Her value to him — at least for the time being — is equal to her usefulness in helping him solve a murder and collect the reward in the new episode “Morphoses.” Richter develops doubts about her stability as they investigate another pregnant woman displaying strange symptoms. Guest stars include Hilarie Burton, actor Morgan’s real-life partner.

MasterChef 9 p.m. on (CTV) (FOX-R) As the title of the new episode “Gordon’s Greatest Hits” suggests, some of Chef Gordon Ramsay’s signature dishes give the remaining contestants their challenges. First, they taste his Beef Wellington, then have to replicate it ... and if that seems tough, wait until the next round. In that, they have to prepare his scallops with puree of English peas, bacon and quail eggs, finished with shaved truffles. That’s very likely not something they make all the time.

The Goldbergs 9:30 p.m. on (ABC-B) Adam’s (Sean Giambrone) decision to pursue fencing alarms Murray (Jeff Garlin) in “As You Wish.” The situation gets worse when Adam reveals why he wanted to take up the sport — his inspiration being the movie “The Princess Bride.” Beverly (Wendi McLendon-Covey) decides to play matchmaker for educators linked to Barry and Erica (Troy Gentile, Hayley Orrantia). Bryan Callen, Ana Gasteyer and Stephen Tobolowsky guest star.

Modern Family 10 p.m. on (ABC-B) Claire and Phil (Julie Bowen, Ty Burrell) are separated on a plane trip back from a reunion weekend in “Fight or Flight.” She’s in first class and he’s in coach. At Gloria’s (Sofia Vergara) urging, Jay (Ed O’Neill) teaches Manny (Rico Rodriguez) to deal with a bully at school. Sal (guest star Elizabeth Banks) gets a baby shower from Mitch, Cam and Pepper (Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Eric Stonestreet, guest star Nathan Lane). Penn Jillette also guest stars.

Celebrity Wife Swap 11 p.m. on (ABC-B) Sight unseen, we’ll bank on this new episode being one of the most distinctive this series has presented yet, given the two personalities who swap households: Oscar- and Emmy-winning sitcom icon Cloris Leachman (“Phyllis”) and actress-singer Pia Zadora (“Butterfly”). Anyone who’s ever seen Leachman in action knows she’s not shy, so the mind boggles over how she may respond if she becomes displeased while temporarily staying at Zadora’s residence.
