Stay cool

While everyone is happy to see the warm summer weather, it’s still important to tame the season’s high temperatur­es. Safe activities, hydration and light food add up to staying happy and healthy, says TOPS Club, Inc. ( Take Off Pounds Sensibly), the non-profit weight-loss support organizati­on. Over the next several days, The Guardian will be running some of their tips to keep cool, even on summer’s hottest days: Plan ahead so you can be active when the sun isn’t at its peak. Get out early to garden in the morning or take slow laps with your dog later at night, when the temperatur­e is lower.
