Stay cool

While ev­ery­one is happy to see the warm sum­mer weather, it’s still im­por­tant to tame the sea­son’s high tem­per­a­tures. Safe ac­tiv­i­ties, hy­dra­tion and light food add up to stay­ing happy and healthy, says TOPS Club, Inc. ( Take Off Pounds Sen­si­bly), the non-profit weight-loss sup­port or­ga­ni­za­tion. Over the next sev­eral days, The Guardian will be run­ning some of their tips to keep cool, even on sum­mer’s hottest days: Plan ahead so you can be ac­tive when the sun isn’t at its peak. Get out early to gar­den in the morn­ing or take slow laps with your dog later at night, when the tem­per­a­ture is lower.
