Roche earns Sch­mir­ler schol­ar­ship

Mon­tague’s Brooks Roche is one of six win­ners of a $5,000 schol­ar­ship from the San­dra Sch­mir­ler Foun­da­tion.

The foun­da­tion awards the prizes to ju­nior curlers pur­su­ing com­pet­i­tive curl­ing ca­reers while at­tend­ing a post-sec­ondary school.

Roche, the Mon­tague High School vale­dic­to­rian for 2015, is en­rolled in the sus­tain­able de­sign en­gi­neer­ing pro­gram at UPEI. He threw third stones on the Tyler Smith pro­vin­cial ju­nior cham­pi­onship team last win­ter. Roche and com­pany rep­re­sented P.E.I. at the Cana­dian ju­niors and the Canada Games in Prince Ge­orge, B.C.
