Event to help former Stanhope School
The Stanhope Heritage Association is getting set to host a walkathon in support of maintenance to the former Stanhope School, now called Stanhope Place.
On Wednesday, July 15, friends and neighbours will be running, walking or biking on the Stanhope/Bayshore Road Promenade to Stanhope Cape and back. It gets underway at 6:30 p.m. with registration. There’s a minimum registration fee of $5 ($10 for a family). Pledge sheets are encouraged. Contact Sandra Campbell at 902-672-1304 or firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
Since 1994, Stanhope Place has been maintained as a community facility for year-round social, recreational and civic functions.
Funds raised by the Stanhope Heritage Association have supported infrastructure investments and upkeep, recently the installation of heat/cooling pumps, re-shingling of the roof and replacement of the original windows. The next priorities are to renovate the entrance to improve access to the main floor of Stanhope Place. Do It Your Way is the major annual fundraiser of the Stanhope Heritage Association to enable this continuing work.
