Bastille Day event planned for Sunday

The Guardian (Charlottetown) - - ISLAND WEEKEND -

The Coopérative d’intégration francophone de l’Î.-P.-É. (CIF) invites francophones and francophiles throughout the province to a French-style family barbecue to celebrate Bastille Day on July 12, noon to 4 p.m., at the Carrefour de l’Isle-Saint-Jean in Charlottetown.

This family event is free and all are welcome. A Méchoui-style meal will be served. Musician Mario Robichaud will entertain the crowd with tunes from his French chanson repertoire, and there will be activities for the whole family. Several door prizes will be given out.

This will be the third Bastille Day celebration put on by the CIF, and every year it has been a true crowd-pleaser.

This family event not only provides a place for French immigrants to celebrate, it is also the perfect opportunity for the local community to get to know P.E.I.’s French-speaking immigrants.
