Gallery 18 in New London is hosting a Monday evening music show called Island Songbook.

Host Michael Pendergast, a well established Island entertainer, will introduce audiences to Prince Edward Island songs, old and new, from the sea and from the red clay roads, of the people and particulars unique to P.E.I.

"It won’t do the Island justice unless those in attendance have equal opportunity to laugh and cry, sing along and clap along, hear a story or tell one," says Pendergast.

The show will be held in the Carriage House, one of the historical buildings on the Gallery 18 property.

With local art on the walls and church pews for seating, Island Songbook promises to be truly unique among the wonderful variety of musical shows this Island offers. Every song presented, whatever the century, is P.E.I. written and every story illuminates this Island’s varied flavours.

Also available at each show is the new picture book, This I Know, a fundraising effort for Hospice P.E.I. There will be opportunities each evening for book signings. Gallery 18 is located at 10686 Route 6 in beautiful New London. Admission is at the door. Shows are at 7:30 p.m.
