Nudie to perform at Victoria Playhouse

The Guardian (Charlottetown) - - ENTERTAINMENT -

Musical Mondays at the Victoria Playhouse will present an evening of original and classic country music with Nudie on Monday July 13.

He will be joined by Hannah Rose as guest duet vocalist.

Nudie plays his music the way Hank Williams would have liked it: great songwriting, minimal instrumentation, a strong voice and an everyman attitude.

Born in Ontario, and before deciding to hang his hat in Prince Edward Island, Nudie (Matt Putnam) had addresses in Montreal, Arizona, Toronto, Austin, Texas and New York City, soaking up the scenes and sounds of each place.

In 2013, songs from his latest release, ‘Remember This’ were licensed for television’s “Saving Hope”, and Nudie’s talents as a performer and emcee were highlighted in Nudie’s House of Rock, a live concert recorded and broadcast by CBC Radio in Atlantic Canada.

2015 will see Nudie release a new album with award winning Doug Paisley pro-ducing, as well as a performance showcase at the prestigious Americana Music Festival in Nashville, Tennessee.
