Is­lan­ders aplenty par­tic­i­pat­ing at Pan Am Games

Is­land ath­letes Jeff Ellsworth and Lorie Kane will have plenty of com­pany at the Pan Amer­i­can Games which started Fri­day in Toronto. Ellsworth (soft­ball) and Kane (golf) will welcome Na­jam and Farida Chishti (ta­ble ten­nis of­fi­cials), Ian Ma­cAdam, of­fi­ci­at­ing the sprints start­ing line at the Games and Para­pan Am Games, and Mag­gie Mid­dle­ton, who’s of­fi­ci­at­ing at the swimming events. Also in Toronto are Mark Gil­man (para-ath­let­ics of­fi­cial) and Michael Jones, the 2013 Sport P.E.I. of­fi­cial of the year, who is watch­ing the touch­lines in rugby. Colin Moore is work­ing as a first re­spon­der and at the ten­nis and ath­let­ics clin­ics. The soft­ball com­pe­ti­tion be­gins Sun­day while the golf event starts Thurs­day. On the web at
