Gallant elected pres­i­dent

The French lan­guage school board has a new pres­i­dent af­ter elect­ing Emile Gallant dur­ing its monthly meet­ing in June.

Gallant, a trustee in Zone 5 since 2008, said he wants to con­tinue the work for­mer pres­i­dent Robert Mad­dix ac­com­plished.

“The re­cruit­ment and pro­mo­tion ef­forts, and other work un­der­taken by the FLSB with re­gards to early years cen­tres, are very im­por­tant to me. We must also keep in­creas­ing our class­room re­sources.”

Mad­dix served as pres­i­dent for 10 of the last 11 years and re­mains a trustee in Zone 5.

Dur­ing the meet­ing, Francine Arse­nault was elected vice-pres­i­dent and Alice Arse­nault was elected sec­re­tary.
