Mon­tague coun­cil by­elec­tion set

MON­TAGUE – A by­elec­tion to fill a town coun­cil va­cancy here will be held Aug. 17 and the can­di­dates are ap­par­ently lin­ing up. The va­cancy de­vel­oped when rookie coun­cil­lor Sheila MacKen­zie Fitz­patrick an­nounced her res­ig­na­tion due to per­sonal rea­sons af­ter be­ing elected in Novem­ber. Nom­i­na­tions for the coun­cil open­ing close July 24 and spec­u­la­tion is at least six in­di­vid­u­als are con­sid­er­ing tak­ing a crack at the job.
