Holland College got name right

The Guardian (Charlottetown) - - EDITORIAL -

In 1968, the provincial government appointed the College Planning Committee to organize the establishment of a college of applied arts and technology. As one of its mandates, the committee needed to provide a name for the institution.

Fred Hyndman proposed the name of Samuel Holland and explained the historical significance of Captain Holland and how appropriate the name would be for this institution. The committee greeted the proposal with enthusiasm and, as they say, the rest is history. Glenn Palmer, Charlottetown
