Hansen man­han­dles Bombers pitch­ing

Colin Hansen whacked two home runs and drove in five runs to lead the Morell CoOper­a­tors Che­vies to a 10-8 win over the Peakes Bombers in Kings County Base­ball League play Sun­day in Morell. Quen John­son picked up the vic­tory for the Che­vies, throw­ing a com­plete game with five strike­outs. Colin My­ers suf­fered the loss with re­lief help from Char­lie Jay. Hansen, Desi Doyle and Darcy Af­fleck all fin­ished the day 3-for-4 to pace the Che­vies, while Af­fleck also smacked a two-run home run. Stephen O’Shea added a pair of hits. Dil­lon Doucette con­tin­ued his tor­rid sea­son, go­ing 3-for4 with a home run and four RBIs to lead the Bomber at­tack, while Matt Bradley was 3-for-3, Trevor McAree 3-for-4 and Char­lie Jay 2-for-3 with a home run. The Che­vies face the league­lead­ing Stratford Ath­let­ics on Wed­nes­day in Stratford at 6:30 p.m.
