Tip from the public leads to arrest
A 30-year-old Charlottetown man was arrested early Tuesday and charged with impaired driving by police acting on a tip from the public. A spokesman for Charlottetown Police Services said a complaint was received at about 2 a.m. regarding a possible impaired driver on University Avenue near Nassau Street. Police patrolled the area, located the suspect’s vehicle and arrested the driver for impaired driving. The accused will appear in provincial court at a later date. Police encourage the public to report any instances of impaired driving by calling 9-11 and potentially save a life.
