Grocery thief gets jail time
A man who stole from a grocery and breached several court orders was sentenced recently to 70 days in jail. Edgar John Keefe appeared before Chief Judge John Douglas in provincial court in Charlottetown for sentencing on four charges. Douglas sentenced him to 10 days in jail for stealing from the Montague Superstore and 30 days for failing to report to his probation officer. He also sentenced Keefe to 30 days in jail for failing to attend court, with all of those sentenced to be served consecutively. Douglas added another 10 days to be served concurrently for breaching the conditions of his probation.
