Le­gault’s rally falls short at Fu­ture Links At­lantics

Char­lot­te­town’s Ryan Le­gault had the best score of the day on Thurs­day but it wasn’t enough.

Le­gault carded a 5-un­der 67 in the fi­nal round of the CN Fu­ture Links At­lantic Cham­pi­onship di­vi­sion to lock up sec­ond place in the ju­nior boys’ di­vi­sion. The tour­na­ment was played at the Gowan Brae Golf Club, near Bathurst, N.B.

He fin­ished three strokes be­hind win­ner Calvin Ross of Fred­er­ic­ton, N.B., who had a three-round to­tal of 215.

In the ju­nior girls di­vi­sion, Bai­ley Carr shot an 81, her best round, for a 252 to­tal. Carr fin­ished 10th out of 20 en­tries, 25 strokes be­hind win­ner Al­li­son Chan­dler of Ch­ester, N.S.

In the ju­nior boys’ di­vi­sion, MacKen­zie Clow of Summerside also shot his best round of the tour­na­ment, carding a 74 for 14th place, 15 shots back of the win­ner.
