The death oc­curred at his home in Hal­i­fax, on Tues­day, July 14, 2015, of Floyd MacQuar­rie, for­merly of South Rus­tico, in his 43rd year. Floyd was the beloved son of Wal­ter and Caro­line (nee Gavin) MacQuar­rie and Ron­nie and Tranette Arse­nault; and the beloved fa­ther of Vic­to­ria, Stephanie, Mor­gan, Ma­son, Ni­cole, Chas and Mer­ayla. He is also sur­vived by his sis­ters and broth­ers, Elaine Duffy (Shawn), Jason MacQuar­rie (Lori), Mar­sha Arse­nault (Shawn), Stacy Arse­nault, Greg Arse­nault and Kerry Arse­nault. He was a spe­cial un­cle to James, Devon, Shauntae, Lo­gan and Lu­cas; and the beloved grand­son of Stella and the late Ce­cil Gavin, and Charles and the late Min­nie MacQuar­rie. He will be fondly re­mem­bered by nu­mer­ous aunts, un­cles, cousins and friends. He was pre­de­ceased by his best friend and un­cle, Harold Gavin; and his aunt, Dar­lene Ford. Rest­ing at Cen­tral Queen’s Fu­neral Home, 2538 Glas­gow Road, New Glas­gow, for vis­i­ta­tion on Fri­day, July 17, 2015, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Fu­neral mass will be cel­e­brated at St. Augustine’s Ro­man Catholic Church, South Rus­tico, on Satur­day, July 18, 2015, at 10:30 a.m. In­ter­ment will take place later in St. Si­mon and St. Jude Ceme­tery, Tignish.
